Nanjaraja Bahadur Education Charity fund boarding home is established by Smt. Lingarajammanni, w/o Prince Nanjaraja Bahadur, grand son of His Highness Mummadi Krishnaraja odeyar in the year 1909 by depositing a sum of Rs.14000.00 as an endowment in palace mujarai department with the good intention. She established this organization to provide food,shelter and school fees of the urs children from this interest amount. Later she pledged her ornaments to raise the initial deposit amount to Rs. 30000/-. The then his highness Sri Nalvadi Krishnaraja odeyar established a committee for this.The committee asked the help and permission of the palace to form a boarding home for students in the name of Late Prince Nanjaraja Bahadur. Palace agreed for this request and sanctioned Rs.120/- per month till 1918-1950. Later his highness of Mysore Sri Jaya Heena rajendra odeyar also increased this amount to Rs.200/- per month till 1956. Initially the boarding home started in a rented house opposite to "Christ the king convent". Later it is shifted to another rented house near Ganapathi temple near Agrahara. Then it is shifted to another rented house near GTR hotel where all the activities of the organisation. Nanjaraja Bahadur education charity fund and boarding home organization started on 12-09-1918.

The first and formost President if this organization is Sardar A C Lingaraje Urs for the period 1918 to 1945 almost 25 years he offered his service to this organization. During his tenure about 35-50 rural students got the facilities like food,shelter,education, discipline and yoga. Many of them were posted in government service, many were Doctors, engineers, lawyers and officers. considering illness of A C Lingerajes ursThe management committe of the organization remembers the prompt service and very grateful to Sardar A C longeraje urs. Considering the illness of AC Lingaraje urs, the executive committee meeting held on 28-06-1925, the committee takes a decision that they nominate Mr. A D Ramaraje urs as acting president to take care of the administrative responsibilities till the recovery. During this period the tragic death of Prince Lingaraje urs, a condolence message was also mentioned in the organization's letter From 1945 to 1957 colonial D C Nanjaraja Bahadur discharged his duties as 2nd president. During his period, the then CITB President Mr. Ramachandrarao Bombare sanctioned a free plot measuring 150*267 ft.on 02-07-1946. Also donated a land measuring 2acres vide survey number 95/1 in Sindhyvalli, Nanjangud Taluk.

In 1957, when the management committee decided that it can't continue running this organization, the responsibility of this is taken by Sri Rama Seva urs board. Mr. M C Narayanaraje urs and Mr. M Gopal rajes urs taken the responsibility of the President and they have struggled for the growth of this organization. The organization saw a an improvement prominently by Late.M K Mallaraje urs, Late. M B Narayana Raje urs , Late. H M Nanjunda Raje Urs who took membership amount and donations from each urs families. In this plot Sri Chikkamada Raje urs and family constructed a house to facilitate the students education. And built a compound by collecting donations from urs families.

Sri Rama Seva Urs Mandali is registered under Registrar of societies, mysore on 28-04-1987. In 1986 Sri B N Bahadur, a great donar gave a sum of Rs. 800000/- as a donation from which they built a Sri. M B Basavaraj Bahadur auditorium in present boarding school which was completed in the year 1989. Late M N Vishwanatha Raje Urs, Bangalore, Dr. A M Krishne Urs,Mysore, Late Sri Bokkasada Nanja Raje Urs,Mysore, Smt. Rani B N Bahadur. America, built 6rooms as donation for the students to stay. The construction work completed during 1987-1989. During 2004-2005 ,an office room and 3 rooms for the hostel were built. Sri M B Basavaraj Bahadur auditorium got renovated with huge windows and grills in 2006.

High power electricity facility provided in 2008-2009. On 25-11-2009,3 rooms built for students with the help of government and one office room built by the organization. The donation collected from urs family was utilised to built the present dining hall during the period of Sri Lakshmikantha Raje Urs in 2013-2014. The outside auditorium built on
15-11-2015. 65KV voltage generator also installed in 2015. Other than this donors have helped to built Ashwath Katte, and idols installation.

Prince Nanjaraja Bahadur and his wife Smt. Lingajammanni are the main pillars of the Nanjaraja Bahadur education charity fund and boarding home which has the aim to provide a quality education and life style for the urs families. Because of their hard work the boarding home is able to facilitate the all the needy. The boarding home is grateful to their members, urs families, government and to all who have worked for the development of this organization. We expect more cooperation and coordination to bring this institution to higher standards.
