Sardar A C Lingaraje Urs(1886-1969)

Sardar A C Libgeraje urs was son in law of His Highness Sri Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar and also grand son of “Raaja Kavi” Lingaraje Urs. He is the eldest son of Puttalingaraje Urs and married to Bettada Chamaraja Bahadur’s daughter Kempananjambike. He has 5sons and 5 daughter.

He was scholar in music and vedaas. Wrote many Hindustani devotional songs. His wife was an efficient artist and embroidery works. Very disciplined, humble person. Because of these qualities he became the first president of Nanjaraja Bahadur charitable boarding home,mysore and worked hard for the growth of the institution for 25 years( 1090-1945). During his presidential period he used advised the students of Nanjaraja Bahadur charitable boarding home to follow the day to day to activities regularly and promptly. Morning Prayers, exercise, coffee and later taking bath, going to school, food and evening sports all these activities were there in the boarding home. Medical check up was there weekly. Students who trained under him all led a disciplined and cultured life in different government departments. Those who were there with him still remembers him.

The then President of India Dr. Radhakrishna visited his house. His highness Sri Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar visited him when Lingaraje urs's wife was in the death bed and fulfilled the last wish by doing her last rituals as per the royal family. Considering the good characters and good works of Sardar A C Lingaraje Urs, the the Maharaja of Mysore Sri Jayacha maraja Wodeyar honored him as Sardar in 1957-58.

Col. D C Nanjaraja Bahadur (1894-1977)

Col. D C Nanjaraja Bahadur born in the year 1894 in Bendaravaadi village, Malavalli taluk, Mandya district to Chikkananjaraje urs couples. The earlier name was Nanajaraje Urs. He adopted by Prince Bettada Chamaraja Bahadur and Smt. Cheluvajammanni in 1899. He finished his education in Sri Chamaraja Urs boarding school, Mysore. From his childhood he is a very good sports person. In the beginning he used to play football, cricket and hockey. Later he got interest in horse riding which was appropriate for warriors. He was expert player of polo and professional horse rider.

He married to Sundara Nanjammanni daughter of Devananjaraje urs s/o. Nanjeraje urs, a khilledar of sosale in 1915. He blessed with 3 sons and 6 daughters. During 1919, Col..D C Nanjaraja Bahadur was a good friend and also a close relative of the then maharaja Sri Kantheerava Narasimharaja wodeyar(Brother of his highness Sri. Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar's brother his highness Sri.Jaya chamarajendra Wodeyar chance amend ta Wodeyar's father). He accepted as probationary Jamedaar of mounted horse in mysore dynasty as per the wishes of his highness. In 1935 he promoted as captain. Later he transferred to imperial lancer. He served as major by his good service.

In 1940, he was the lieutenant Colonel. of 3rd infantry battalion of Mysore. In 1951 he was the Colonel. and also station commander for the mysore regiment. He was the President for Nanjaraja Bahadur education charitable home from 1945-1957. During this period he got sanction of the free site(150X267 ft) for the society from CITB in 1946. He donated two acres of land vide survey number 95/1 in sindhuvalli, Nanjanagud taluk in 1959 to the society.

He was the champion of the then prestigious national game polo. He was the captain of mysore's polo team. He defeated the then very strong opponent golkonda team and got 100 pounds as a reward from His highness Sri kantheerava Narasimha raja Wodeyar. He was a good tennis player also. He served as A D C to his highness. After 1935, the national game polo was slowly lost its prominence and after his highness Sri kantheerava Narasimha raja Wodeyar's death in 1940 the game lost its charm. Now hardly you can see the polo players. We lost Col. D C Nanjaraja Bahadur in 1977 at the age of 84 and he lives in the memory of urs ancestry as a prominent sports personality.

Dr. B.N. Bahadur

Dr. B N Bahadur is a son of Sri.M.B. Basavaraja Bahadur and Smt. Sundarammanni. He is the 5th generation from the founder of this organization Prince Nanjaraja Bahadur and also from the Madana Vilas family.

Very active and brilliant from the childhood, he finished his primary education in Bangalore and studied high school in Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions, Mysore. Later did his graduation in commerce in one of the prestigious college D.Bannumaiah's college. Did his post graduation M.Com in Manasa Gangothri, Mysore. As soon as he finished his post graduation served as Lecturer of commerce in Lal Bahadur college,Sagar and R.C. college ,Bangalore. While working as lecturer, he got his MBA from Michigan University, USA and got extended MBA in School of Management from North western university, Chicago by managing all the expenses from his savings.

He opened a company in the name of BBK in 1979. It encouraged many companies which were in loss. He is the director and share holder of “Main Street Bank” in Birmingham, Michigan.

Recently he started a business “Blue Nector Spirit” with his family members. Being an old student of university of Mysore, he established B.N.Bahadur institute of management sciences and donated it to University of Mysore. Every year 240 graduated students from this college are working different areas. Considering all his services the university of Mysore honored him with doctorate. Apart from this he was the overseas ambassador of university of mysore during the period of vice Chancellor professor K S Rangappa.

He married to Smt. Rani Dakshayani Bahadur, blessed with son Nikhil Bahadur, daughter Monica and a grand son Bodhi. He helped our Nanjaraja Bahadur Charity boarding home by donating Rs.8,00,000/- in 1987 and also helped to build a community hall. Constructed a dining hall “Annapoorna Sabhangana”. The community hall is using for marriage and other traditional functions. The income from this hall is being utilised for the educational scholarships and encouraging to physically challenged. The organization is proudly completing 100 years and for thus centinary celebration he is the one who made this to happen. We whole heartedly thank him on behalf of the organization.
